KDF Water Filter Cartridge

This KDF™ water filter cartridge uses copper-zinc and granular activated coconut shell carbon filtration.

Our KDF™ water filter replacement cartridge employs state of the art filtration with KDF™ and GAC (granular activated coconut shell carbon). Our KDF™ filtration is proven effective in removing chlorine and reducing lead and other heavy metals.

In addition, our KDF™ filtration also helps to pH balance the water and reduces scaling due to hardness. It also helps to keep the filtration media bacteriostatic. As it initially removes chlorine from the water, KDF™ (copper-zinc) component thereby extends the filtration capacity of the granular activated coconut shell carbon.

Granular Activated Carbon is proven to be an excellent media for the filtration of water borne chemicals such as chlorine, trihalomethanes, and VOCs (volatile organic compounds) including herbicides and pesticides. When carbon is activated, heated to 1000+ degrees, its pores expand and enable it to trap a host of undesirable substances and remove them from the water. Coconut shell Carbon also sweetens the taste of water.

The KDF™ water filter replacement cartridge offers a Total of 4 Filtration Stages

Stage 1: 100 micron-bonded poly fiber, eliminates dirt, sediment, rust and other particles the size of a human hair.

Stage 2: 1.5 lbs. of KDF™ (copper-zinc) media removes chlorine, reduces lead and other heavy metals. Also reduces scale build-up and helps keep unit bacteriostatic.

Stage 3: Granular Activated Carbon further reduces chlorine, THMs (trihalomethanes), VOCs (volatile organic chemicals), undesirable tastes and odors.

Stage 4: 50 micron spun-bonded polypropylene filters undesirable remaining particles.
