Actual capacity is dependent on the presence of other competing contaminants in the source water. The filter medium inside the fluoride reducing element contains some residual manufacturing dust that may make the final water product cloudy or have a bitter taste. This situation is easily avoided by simply flushing the fluoride filter prior to the first use.
