Cartridge Design:

The unique feature of the radial flow design cartridge offers the benefits of granular activated carbon (GAC) filtration, such as low pressure drop, while at the same time significantly reducing the release of carbon fines commonly associated with GAC-style cartridges.  The 20” radial flow cartridge is constructed with a 70 micron porous polyethylene outer shell and durable polypropolyne end caps.  It incorporates a spun polypropolyne core and sandwiched between the outer shell and the inner core is a generous bed of granular activated carbon.

When carbon is “activated”, heated to temperatures of a thousand + degrees, its pores expand and enable it to “trap” a host of undesirable substances and remove them from the water. This stage of the WaterSource II filtration system also sweetens the water’s taste and improves its clarity.

Q:  If you get a whole house filter do you need the sink and shower ones or does the full house cover all of this? What if your home has an irrigation system?

A: It will filter all the water going into your house however we would recommend a point of use system, counter top or under counter, for your kitchen sink because this is the water you drink. A point of use system will properly remove heavy metals, fluoride, cyst bacteria, VOC’s & THM’s. Our whole house system will remove all the chlorine but will address a much smaller percentage of these other impurities. Your plumber should be able to divert the filtered water from feeding your irrigation system.
